Selection process and application evaluation

Applications undergo an eligibility check by the three sending institutions and a merit-based evaluation by a joint Talent Selection Committee (one representative per partner, who does not evaluate candidates from their own institution).

The Committee uses five criteria:

  1. quality of the motivation expressed and the learning objectives envisioned for the secondment
  2. ranking of host organisations according to the applicant’s preference, and the motivation behind this choice
  3. alignment of the applicant’s motivation with the host organisations’ mission and activities
  4. expected impact of the secondment on the applicant’s employability
  5. proposed knowledge-sharing activities upon return to the sending organisation

Each criterion is scored from 1 to 5. Applications scoring below 3 on any criterion are rejected. Applications with at least 3 on every criterion and a total of at least 15 out of 25 are shortlisted.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interviews with the host organisations before the final allocation.

ROBO-KNOT applies gender equality and diversity principles throughout the selection process, aiming at balanced participation of under-represented groups, in particular women in robotics.

All personal data submitted with your application are processed in line with the GDPR and shared only with the ROBO-KNOT partners involved in the evaluation. See the privacy statement for applicants.
